Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
